The SGS Library is staffed by member volunteers and usually open for research Tuesday through Saturday. To be sure that the library is open or that the elevator is available, give us a call before you come: (206) 522-8658.

Starting in January 2025:
Evening Hours 6:00 to 8:30 PM on the 3rd Wednesday of the month
In addition to the library's collection of books and maps, access to the Internet is provided by four in-house computer workstations and a wireless network for portable computers. FamilySearch Affiliate records may be viewed on any Internet-connected computer within the library. Subscription databases, available only on library ocmputers, include: Ancestry, Fold3, Newspapers Extra, American Ancestors by NEHGS, FindMyPast (UK), New! Archion (Germany), and Historygeo, a database of historical maps and landowners covering 29 US states and pre-statehood Texas. Unique SGS databases and a digital scanning workstation are also available.

This me ans that when you are inside the SGS Library either using your own computer or our Patron Computers you will be able to access some of the "locked" records at FamilySearch.org. To view the locked records you will be prompted to sign in to your own account. If you don't already have an account you may create a free account through FamilySearch.org.
