SGS Library to re-open November 8th!

Good Shepherd Center

Beginning Monday, 8 November 2021, the SGS Library will be open at our new location in the Wallingford neighborhood:

Room 302 of the Good Shepherd Center
4649 Sunnyside Ave N, Seattle

We will have the same phone number as before: (206) 522-8658.
While we are settling in, open hours will be:

10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday

Due to COVID restrictions the total number of people in the library space will be limited to six, and masks will be required at all times while in the building. Please call to see if the library is already at or near capacity before you come down.

NOTE: Although the library will offer our usual wireless Internet access, we may not have our special connection to FamilySearch in place by November 8th. If you plan to use FamilySearch Affiliate to access locked materials, do call ahead to make sure it is available.

Take a look at our Surname Registry

Do you want to collaborate with SGS members? Have you wondered if a member has a research area similar to your own? To find out, visit  the online database SGS Member Surname Registry at the link below. You will find a searchable list of research names added exclusively by our members.

For each entry you can view more details by selecting the "eye" icon, or you can write a message to the member by selecting the "envelope" email icon. Follow the instructions to send the message on our secure website system. (Note, you will not have access to the member's name or contact information unless they choose to reply, and we cannot guarantee that you will receive a response.)

Members, if you would like to view or edit your research names list, log in and go to your Member Profile page. Then click on the "Surnames" tab.

You will be prompted to sign up for a FREE account through FamilySearch.org, or to sign in to your own account and then you can access the records. The service is available during normal hours at the SGS research library.
