The SGS Library is usually open for research Tuesday through Saturday. If you want to be sure that the library is open or that the elevator is available, give us a call before you come: (206) 522-8658.

In addition to the library book collection, wireless Internet access is available. FamilySearch Affiliate records may be viewed on any Internet-connected computer within the library. Four computer workstations offer subscription databases Ancestry, Fold3, Newspapers Extra, American Ancestors by NEHGS, and Historygeo a database of historical maps and landowners covering 29 US states and pre-statehood Texas.

Family Search LogoFamilySearch Affiliate Library
The Seattle Genealogical Society is an Affiliate Library for FamilySearch.org and the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City. This means that when you are inside the SGS Library either using your own computer or our Patron Computers you will be able to access some of the "locked" records at FamilySearch.org. To view the locked records you will be prompted to sign in to your own account. If you don't already have an account you may create a free account through FamilySearch.org.
